Job description

Working as a Consultant for Ce-Tec A/S at a Danish Oil & Gas Company. 

 

Context and environment

The Tyra Redevelopment Project (TRP) is a Major offshore gas redevelopment project in the Danish North Sea. The project has completed its first phase with successful completion of hook-down and decommissioning works. The project is now into its development phase comprising both Brownfield and Greenfield offshore Hook-up and Commissioning activities. The greenfield scope of work consists in the installation of newly built facilities composed of:

  • 3 Wellhead & Riser Platforms TE
  • 3 Wellhead & Riser Platforms TW
  • 1 Central Process Platform topsides (TEG)
  • 1 Living Quarters Platform topsides (TEH)
  • New jackets for TEG & TEH

The overall HUC&W campaign will mobilize two accommodation Rigs, over a 24-month period with cumulated peak POB @400.

The startup of the 12 x BHGE packages (part on TEG Central Process Platform) is a key success factor for the project to achieve first gas export.

 

Accountabilities/purpose

Reports to:  BHGE Manager

Responsible for: Collaborates with Project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labor, and other resources required to complete the project

 

At all times, the job holder will:

Job and service dimension

  • Assurance of engineering deliverables, procurement, construction and interface with all the relevant discipline (i.e. electrical, instrument, mechanical, process) for the preparation and offshore execution of the Hook-Up and Commissioning activities related to the BHGE packaged delivered as part of the TEG process platform (3 x Gas Turbo Generators, 7 x Compressors Electric Motors Drive with Magnetic Bearings and 2 x Turbo Expanders with Magnetic Bearings) for the Tyra redevelopment project in the Danish North Sea
  • Interface with Authorities and Vendor company to reach The Transfer (TOM) of Operation and Maintenance as well as the Transfer of Care and Custody (TCC) milestone
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the HSE policy and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory HSE standards
  • Responsible for meeting agreed objectives

  • Project Location: 210 km from Esbjerg with 40m water of depth
  • The position is based onshore on resident basis in Esbjerg project office

 

Activitites

The project and Interface Engineer is responsible for organizing and delivering the following:

 

HSE Matters:

  • Lead by example, working toward an Incident Free environment
  • Ensure, through Site Team, that all activities are executed following the highest level of attention and consideration to HSE, as Company and TRP rules and standards as well as the Company values and rules

 

Engineering Support:

  • Manage Vendor (BHGE) achievement in accordance with contractual requirements
  • Ensure follow-up and coordinate close-out of action points from management meetings
  • Coordinate close-out and internal reporting on technical and contractual queries between Vendor (BHGE) and Company
  • Ensure engineering and Vendor data is in place to support project objectives for Information Management System and minimum offshore manning
  • Interact with different discipline stakeholders within the Company (i.e.: Engineering/TEC, Operations, HSEQ, E&S teams and Commercial & Legal groups), interpreting their needs and requirements and representing them in the field (with the support of the offshore Compressor & Turbo Generators Lead)
  • Perform quality control tasks on the budget, schedules, plans and personnel performance and reporting on the project’s status as well as creating frameworks to measure the project’s metric
  • Cooperate with the BHGE Manager and other project participants to create more efficient project methods and to maintain project’s profitability (promote cost reduction initiatives and strive to optimize costs and achieve value at every opportunity)
  • Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions to meet Vendor (BHGE) targets
  • Establish filed test methods and methods for monitoring the quality, cost, and progress of Vendor (BHGE) activities in accordance with approved project requirements, budget, and schedule
  • Ensure the project’s compliance with the applicable Company codes, practices, policies, performance standards and specifications
  • During hook-up and commissioning, ensure good coordination between installation and commissioning teams, to optimize the overall schedule
  • Report the area of progress and provide input to weekly and monthly reports. Inform the BHGE Manager of main issues and prepare formal communications/letters for BHGE Manager review and approval/issuance in liaison with the Contract Engineer

 

Spares/Special Tools/Repairs activities:

  • Manage Yard Inventory, Packing and Shipping
  • Manage Procurement, Storage Repairs and Refurbishments

 

Hand-Over Management:

  • Manage handover with the EPC contractor McDermott and yard team to the HUC team
  • Manage handover from HUC team to Project Field Operations

 

 

Background/Qualification/Experience required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree within relevant engineering discipline
  • 10+ years’ experience in Oil & Gas industry with focus within:
  • Offshore Hook-up and Commissioning
  • Rotating Equipment (Electric Power Generators up to 40 MW, magnetic Bearing application – high speed electric motors and compressors up to 20 MW)
  • Computer literate, especially in electrical calculation software
  • Strong minded individual who can confidentially make decisions and who is not afraid of identifying any shortcomings or wrong doings
  • Ability to adapt and to represent the Company in discussions, negotiations and meetings with Vendors, partners, and regulatory authorities
  • Ability to effectively participate in a team; demonstrate sound organization skills, ability to work in a multicultural business environment
  • Knowledge of Atex directives, IEC/EN/API standards
  • Focus on HSE
  • Fluency in English (speaking and with excellent writing skills)
