Yaw Ring repair
The challenge
Damaged teeth on a slewing ring can quickly put a wind turbine out of action. Even minor damage leads to misalignment, increased stress on the drive system and, in the worst case, a complete shutdown. The common solution is to replace the entire slewing ring - a process that requires the use of a crane, longer downtime and significant spare parts costs.
The alternative
At Cetec Energy, we approach the problem differently. Our teams perform precision repairs up in the tower. With a specialised and proven swing ring repair procedure, the welding work is done up in the tower and the damaged teeth are rebuilt and restored without dismantling the nacelle.
The result
This method brings the workshop into the wind turbine. It's faster, far more cost-effective and extends the life of critical components. For operators, this means reduced downtime, controlled costs and turbines that are back in production within days - not weeks.
Solutions for critical projects in the energy sector
Cetec Energy empowers operators and OEMs by adding specialised expertise, precision and capacity to ensure wind turbines operate optimally.
Specialised welding for wind
The team specialises in performing Repairs and welding tasks that extend the life of critical original components and reduces the need for replacement.
Through targeted interventions directly in the tower and nacelle, damage and wear can be effectively repaired to restore component function and structural integrity.
This approach minimises downtime, reduces costs and ensures that the turbine can be quickly brought back into operation - without compromising quality or safety.
All technicians are GWO certified and have extensive practical experience of welding under the conditions that characterise working in wind turbines.
Specialised welding for marine
Cetec Energy provides specialised welding solutions for the marine industry, where work on Primary structures, engine components and critical systems requires high precision and safe execution. Tasks include repair, modification and installation carried out directly on the vessel - often as an integral part of planned operations or short-term stops.
The work is carried out in close interaction between welding and mechanical competences, enabling efficient interventions on complex systems without unnecessary interruptions. The structured approach, clear division of responsibilities and experience with demanding marine environments ensure that tasks are carried out efficiently, in a controlled manner and with full focus on function, safety and long-term solutions.
