Development of a test interface for functional testing of low-voltage switchboards

A specially developed test interface for functional testing of low-voltage switchboards and power distribution units. The solution provides safer access to control functions and reduces the need for temporary wiring connections

Benefits

When carrying out functional tests on low-voltage switchboards and supply drawers, it may be necessary to have safe and repeatable access to several control functions whilst the equipment is taken out of service.

If the test is carried out using temporary wiring or external connections, the work may be both time-consuming and more prone to incorrect connections.

Cetec Energy developed a dedicated test interface for functional testing of ABB MNS switchboards. The solution was based on the customer’s installed switchboard documentation and gave the technician access to relevant functions via a more controlled and repeatable test setup.

The test interface makes it possible to power and test the drawer without the need for unnecessary temporary connections. This provides a faster, safer and more consistent method for checking functions, signals and feedback.

The solution is an example of custom-developed test equipment designed specifically for the installation in question and the way in which maintenance work is to be carried out in practice.
