Benefits

Relays and protective devices can be difficult to test in practice directly in the switchboard, particularly when access to multiple signals and functions is required.

Cetec Energy developed a range of test boxes for the GE 800 series of generator relays, including the GE 869 Motor, GE 845 Transformer and GE Feeder 850. These allow the relay and display to be tested outside the switchboard. The box is fitted with the relevant connections, enabling the technician to work on the relay’s functions in a more controlled test environment.

The solution is an example of custom-developed equipment for relay testing, designed to make fault-finding, inspection and maintenance more practical and safer – and can be adapted for all types of relays.
