Commissioning & Work Preparation
Structured planning and technical preparation towards commissioning - with a focus on documentation, coordination and safe transition to operation.
Reliable transition from project to operation
We ensure a structured transition from installation to operation where technical, safety and operational issues are clarified and documented.
Cetec Energy supports the entire preparation phase leading up to commissioning - from procedure development and planning to concrete preparation on site.
Structured preparation before commissioning
Successful commissioning requires systematic and documented preparation where technical, safety and operational aspects are aligned.
At Cetec Energy, we ensure that:
- Responsibilities and interfaces are defined
- Inspection and test plans are set
- Risk assessments have been completed
- Documentation is consistent and accessible
- Work procedures are technically validated
Experience that makes a difference
With more than 30 years of experience in the energy sector, Cetec Energy delivers the right consultants and technical competences - exactly when and where they are needed.

Yaw Ring Repair
Yaw ring repair becomes relevant when damaged teeth on a yaw ring affect the wind turbine's ability to turn the nacelle correctly towards the windthe.
The challenge
Worn and broken teeth on the yaw ring can lead to misalignment, increased stress on the drive system and, in the worst case, downtime.
The traditional solution is often to replace the entire yaw ring. This typically requires a crane, longer downtime and significant costs for spare parts, planning and external equipment.
The alternative
At Cetec Energy, we perform yaw ring repair on the uptower. This means that the repair can be carried out directly in the wind turbine without full disassembly of the nacelle.
Using a specialised and proven procedure, the damaged teeth are milled, welded and restored so that the tooth profile again matches the required geometry. The work is carried out with a focus on quality, documentation and reliability.
The result
The method brings the workshop's competences uptower in the wind turbine. For the operator, this means shorter downtime, lower overall costs and a more controlled process than a full replacement.
This type of yaw ring repair can extend the life of a critical component and get the turbine back in production within days - not weeks.
From document to operation
In complex energy plants, there is often a difference between theoretical design and practical reality. Commissioning therefore requires technical experience and understanding of the systems being commissioned.
This means that procedures aren't just created - they are quality assured in relation to the actual installation.
At Cetec Energy, we combine:
- Engineering & Planning
- Practical installation understanding
- Understanding both aging and new installations
- Experience from both offshore and onshore environments
Cetec Energy focuses on on-site readiness
Commissioning is only successful if the organisation and installation are ready.
- Review and verification of installations before commissioning
- Identification of technical deviations
- Clarification of modification needs
- Support for FAT & SAT
- Technical support during commissioning
Our approach is operational.
We understand the consequences of failures in critical systems - both technical and financial. That's why we prioritise robust planning, realistic timeframes and clear responsibilities.
Safety & Procedure Development
Establish the basic safety and operational framework that forms the basis for stable and compliant operations. Strategy, governance and procedures are structured so that the organisation has a clear and implementable foundation.
This forms the basis for structured planning and execution of commissioning.
Commissioning & Work Preparation
Based on the established framework, commissioning is planned and prepared through procedure development, pre-commissioning activities and technical preparation on site. Documentation, test plans and responsibilities are reconciled before operation.
Then ensure that the installation fulfils the requirements through systematic quality assurance and compliance verification.
Quality & Compliance Assurance
During and after commissioning, we verify that facilities, documentation, equipment and work processes meet applicable requirements and standards. Through inspection, supervision and audit support, we ensure uniform practices and traceable compliance.
The result is stable operation, reduced risk and a proven basis for future modifications and lifetime extension.
