Asset Integrity & Reliability

Reliability and longevity through technical analysis, obsolescence management and risk-based improvements.

Maximise reliability and lifetime

Cetec Energy is dedicated to securing and improving the condition and reliability of electrical installations in facilities with both new and longer operating histories.

The effort includes structured assessment of switchboards, distribution systems and critical electrical components to determine the actual technical condition and identify conditions that affect stable operation and future maintenance.

Documented basis for decision making

Asset Integrity & Reliability provides a structured and documented assessment of the condition of the installation and future risks. It creates a technically sound basis for decisions on upgrades, lifetime extension or change of maintenance strategy.

The assessment is based on a combination of technical review, analysing historical operational data and assessing the current function and availability of components. The result is a clear overview of where the installation is robust and where weaknesses exist that should be prioritised.

It allows management and the technical organisation to make decisions on a documented basis - with clear correlation between risk, investment and expected impact on operations and stability.

”Asset integrity is not just about controlling equipment - it's about understanding the true state of the installation and the risks that come with age and changes over time.

At Cetec Energy, we combine technical insight with practical experience from existing plants. This gives our customers a clear and documented basis for making the right decisions about lifetime, upgrades and operations.”

Obsolescence management

Strategic management of phased out and obsolete equipment

In many existing facilities, outdated relays, components and control systems pose an increasing risk. Missing spare parts and manufacturer shutdowns can lead to unpredictable downtime.  Checks and tests are based on the actual configuration and operating history of the system.

Cetec Energy implements:

Condition assessment

Identifying weaknesses and assessing the risk picture of the installation

Condition assessments are conducted with a focus on actual function and the current status of the installation - not just documentation. The result is a fact-based overview of the technical condition of the installation.

Yaw Ring Repair

Yaw ring repair becomes relevant when damaged teeth on a yaw ring affect the wind turbine's ability to turn the nacelle correctly towards the windthe.

The challenge

Worn and broken teeth on the yaw ring can lead to misalignment, increased stress on the drive system and, in the worst case, downtime.

The traditional solution is often to replace the entire yaw ring. This typically requires a crane, longer downtime and significant costs for spare parts, planning and external equipment.

The alternative

At Cetec Energy, we perform yaw ring repair on the uptower. This means that the repair can be carried out directly in the wind turbine without full disassembly of the nacelle.

Using a specialised and proven procedure, the damaged teeth are milled, welded and restored so that the tooth profile again matches the required geometry. The work is carried out with a focus on quality, documentation and reliability.

The result

The method brings the workshop's competences uptower in the wind turbine. For the operator, this means shorter downtime, lower overall costs and a more controlled process than a full replacement.

This type of yaw ring repair can extend the life of a critical component and get the turbine back in production within days - not weeks.
